CLV calculator
Compare the odds you took with every closing price in the same market.
Closing line value (CLV) compares the odds you took with the market's final price. Enter your odds and every closing price of the market: the calculator removes the margin and shows CLV raw, against the fair close, and in probability points.

Batch mode
One bet per line: odds taken, closing odds of your selection, then the other closing odds. The summary uses Power no-vig CLV, the default devig. The interval is the mean ± 1.96 × sample standard deviation ÷ √n.
Formula
Raw CLV = odds taken ÷ closing odds − 1. No-vig CLV = odds taken × fair closing probability − 1.
Worked example
Taken 2.08, close 1.95 / 1.95: raw CLV +6.67%, no-vig CLV +4.00% on every method, +1.92 probability points, overround 2.56%.
FAQ
What is a good CLV?
There is no single number. A positive average over hundreds of bets is the useful check. See closing line value explained.
Why enter both sides of the closing market?
The other prices are how the margin is removed. Raw CLV overstates the edge when the close still contains a margin.
What is the difference between raw and no-vig CLV?
Raw CLV compares your price with the closing price. No-vig CLV compares it with the fair close after a devig method.
Does positive CLV mean I will win?
No. It measures the price you took, not the result of the bet.
Which closing price should I use?
A sharp book's close for the same market, line and period.
