Fair odds by method
| Method | Outcome 1 | Outcome 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Multiplicative | 2.0000 | 2.0000 |
| Additive | 2.0000 | 2.0000 |
| Power | 2.0000 | 2.0000 |
| Shin | 2.0000 | 2.0000 |
| Worst case | 2.0000 | 2.0000 |
How fair odds are calculated
Multiplicative normalizes implied probabilities by their sum. Additive removes the same margin from each outcome. Power finds k so that the sum of implied probabilities raised to k equals 1. Shin solves the standard insider-trading model for z so fair probabilities sum to 1.
Worst case takes the highest fair odds for each outcome across all four methods. This conservative envelope is not a normalized market. Shin is unavailable for underrounds; additive can be invalid for extreme odds. When a method is invalid, the calculator does not invent a result.
