The best value betting software is the tool that finds prices above a sharp fair price at the bookmakers you can actually use, at a fee your betting volume can carry. For most European bettors that means a multi-book +EV scanner such as RebelBetting, Bet Hero or ValueBetFactory; for US books, OddsJam; for arbitrage first, Betburger; and if you want to see the sharp move itself, a Pinnacle terminal such as Pinnacle Terminal.
There is no single winner, because the tools do different jobs. Some compare dozens or hundreds of soft bookmakers against a fair price and hand you a list. Others show you what the sharp market is doing and leave the bookmaker check to you. This page sorts eight tools by what they actually do, with prices and trials taken from each company's own website on the date shown, and gives you a short test to run during any trial.
Disclosure: this is the Pinnacle Terminal blog, and Pinnacle Terminal is one of the eight. Every fact about another tool comes from that tool's public site, read on the date given. Prices change and can depend on your country; confirm them at checkout.
Definition. Value betting software compares bookmakers' odds with an estimate of the true probability, usually the price of a sharp bookmaker such as Pinnacle with the margin removed, and flags bets where a bookmaker pays more than the outcome is worth. The gap is the bet's expected value (EV). The software finds candidates; it does not make a bet worth more than its price.
What does value betting software actually do?
Every value betting tool does three things, in some order:
- Builds a fair price. It takes a sharp reference, removes the margin and gets a no-vig probability. How it removes the margin matters; see devig methods.
- Compares that price with bookmakers. Either it scans many bookmakers itself (a scanner), or it shows you the sharp price and its moves so you check your own bookmaker (a terminal).
- Helps you size and record bets. Stake suggestions, a bet tracker, and ideally closing line value, the only quick measure of whether the bets were good.
The core formula is the same everywhere: EV = (bookmaker odds ÷ fair odds) − 1. A bet at 2.10 against a fair price of 2.00 has an EV of +5%. The EV calculator does it for you, and the method is in what is a value bet.

Scanner or terminal: which kind of tool do you need?
This is the first decision, and it matters more than price.
A multi-book scanner (RebelBetting, Trademate, Bet Hero, Betburger, OddsJam, ValueBetFactory's +EV plan) checks many bookmakers for you and lists every price above fair. You get volume without watching a screen. The catch is that a scanner is only worth the bookmakers on its list that you can legally use, and that the list includes many bets that are already gone by the time you click.
A sharp-move terminal (Pinnacle Terminal, BetUnfair, ValueBetFactory's dropping-odds plan) shows you what the sharp market just did: the price, the size of the move, the limit. You then check whether your bookmaker still has the old price. You see fewer bets, but you see the reason behind each one, and you can act on books that no scanner covers, including local and regional bookmakers.
A third kind is a model service, such as WinnerOdds, which builds its own probabilities instead of borrowing a sharp price; see WinnerOdds alternative for how that compares with a Pinnacle terminal.
Some bettors use both: a scanner for breadth and a terminal to confirm that a flagged price comes from a real sharp move rather than a stale or thin market.
Which value betting software fits you?
- You bet in Europe at mainstream books and want a ready list: RebelBetting or Bet Hero. Check that your books are on their lists first. If you use Bet Hero mainly for its dropping odds feed, read Bet Hero alternative.
- You want analysis and tracking built around the feed: Trademate Sports. Check the billing currency; its pricing page showed none on 28/10/2026. Our Trademate Sports review (31/10/2026) covers what each plan includes and the trial terms.
- You live in Telegram: ValueBetFactory lists Telegram alerts on its plans; Pinnacle Terminal runs a private Telegram bot per user.
- You mainly do arbitrage, or bet live: Betburger. Arbitrage gets accounts limited faster; see what is arbitrage betting.
- Your sportsbooks are American: OddsJam is built around US books, apps and prediction markets.
- You want several sharp references, not just Pinnacle: BetUnfair tracks 17; read our BetUnfair review.
- You want to see Pinnacle move first, graded, and bet at any bookmaker: Pinnacle Terminal.
For deeper one-to-one comparisons, see EV Kings alternative (a newer +EV scanner at €49 a month for two months, then €99, per evkings.io on 30/10/2026), RebelBetting alternative, Trademate alternative, RebelBetting vs Trademate (the two scanners head to head), ValueBetFactory alternative (or the full ValueBetFactory review: pricing, devig method, pros and cons), Betburger alternative, OddsJam alternative, TrueEdge Odds alternative (a US +EV, arbitrage and promo suite from $79.99 a month, per trueedgeodds.com on 31/10/2026) PhotonOdds alternative (pre-match EV+ and steam signals from €24 a month, per photonodds.com on 31/10/2026) and Unabated alternative (a blended no-vig "Unabated Line", odds screen and simulators from $99 a month, per tools.unabated.com on 31/10/2026). Tools built only around Pinnacle drops are compared in Pinnacle Odds Dropper alternatives.
How do you choose value betting software? 6 checks
- Bookmaker coverage you can use. Count the books on the tool's list that are legal and open to you. A list of 600 is worth nothing if three are yours.
- The fair price. Which sharp book or exchange is the reference, and which devig method? Power, multiplicative and Shin give different fair prices on the same market, especially on longshots. Test them on the devig calculator.
- Speed. A value bet exists only until the bookmaker corrects its price. Ask how old the odds on screen are.
- The fee against your volume. See the next section.
- Tracking and CLV. Without closing line value you will judge the tool by a few weeks of results, which is mostly noise. Compare tracking options in CLV tracking tools compared.
- Account life. Every approach that beats soft bookmakers gets accounts limited sooner or later. Read why bookmakers limit winners before you plan around one book.
Can your betting volume carry the fee?
A subscription is a fixed cost. Expected value is a percentage of what you stake. So the question is how much you must stake each month for the expected value to equal the fee:
Break-even turnover = monthly fee ÷ average EV per bet.
| Monthly fee | Average EV 2% | Average EV 3% | Average EV 5% |
|---|---|---|---|
| €49.99 | €2,500 | €1,666 | €1,000 |
| €89 | €4,450 | €2,967 | €1,780 |
| €99 | €4,950 | €3,300 | €1,980 |
| €199 | €9,950 | €6,633 | €3,980 |
These are expected values, not results. Real results swing far around them for months; the variance simulator shows how much. And the average EV you actually get is lower than the EV the tool shows, because some prices move before you bet and some bets are refused or cut. If your realistic monthly stakes are well below the break-even figure, a cheaper plan, or no subscription, is the better choice.
A real example: one value bet, start to finish
From Pinnacle Terminal on 28 October 2026, about 09:37 Madrid time (CET). ITF Women Poitiers, Leonard v Hesse, games handicap Leonard −3.5.
- Pinnacle's price fell from 1.826 to 1.543, and Pinnacle raised the limit as it fell. The terminal labelled it Limit-backed (it had been a Downtrend).
- The fair price on that line, with the margin removed by the Power method, was 1.631, about 61.3%.
- Suppose a slower bookmaker still offered 1.75 on the same line (an illustrative price, not a recorded one). EV = 1.75 ÷ 1.631 − 1 = +7.3%.
- With a €1,000 bankroll and a quarter-Kelly stake, the Kelly calculator suggests about 2.4% of the bankroll, roughly €24.
A scanner would show you this as one row: bookmaker, 1.75, +7.3%. A terminal shows you the move behind it: a fall of about 15% backed by a rising limit. Both lead to the same bet. What they differ on is what you see before you click, and which bookmakers you can check.
How Pinnacle Terminal handles this
Pinnacle Terminal is a real-time screen of Pinnacle's prices and limits; it does not take bets and is not affiliated with Pinnacle. Every pre-match move is graded 0–10 and labelled, so you see at once which ones matter: Big move (the odds dropped and Pinnacle closed the market), Sharp drop (roughly 20% or more below the recent high), Limit-backed (the odds dropped and Pinnacle raised the limit, a sign it is confident), Downtrend, Rebound (the odds returning towards the opener) and Standard. Drops are measured over a 2-minute window by default, which you can change. Live in-play drops (football) are shown live and filtered by goal and score context, but not graded. Each line shows a fair price (Power by default), a league filter hides events your bookmaker does not offer, alerts go to a private Telegram bot, and the tracker records CLV automatically. It is not a multi-book scanner: you check your own bookmaker. The terminal does not keep a line history. See Pinnacle dropping odds for the full view.
FAQ
What is the best value betting software in 2026?
There is no single best tool. For a ready list of +EV bets at European books, RebelBetting and Bet Hero are the usual starting points; for US books, OddsJam; for arbitrage, Betburger; to see Pinnacle's moves graded and check your own bookmaker, Pinnacle Terminal. Choose by the bookmakers you can use and the fee your volume can carry.
Is there free value betting software?
Partly. Betburger has a free version with limits and delays, and RebelBetting, Trademate and ValueBetFactory offer free trials (dates in the table). You can also value bet manually with a sharp price and free calculators such as the devig calculator and EV calculator; it is slower, not impossible.
Is value betting software worth it?
Only if your realistic monthly stakes, times your average edge, cover the fee. At a 3% average EV, a €99 tool needs about €3,300 a month in stakes just to cover its cost in expected value. Below that, a cheaper plan or manual work makes more sense.
What is the difference between value betting and arbitrage software?
Value betting software finds single bets priced above fair; you accept the risk of each bet. Arbitrage software finds prices at different bookmakers that cover every outcome. Arbitrage lowers variance but uses small margins and tends to get accounts limited faster. Many tools do both.
Do I need a Pinnacle account to use value betting software?
No. Pinnacle is used as the reference price; you bet at the bookmakers you already use. Some tools use other sharp books or exchanges as the reference too.
