Pinnacle's public API has been closed to the general public since 23 July 2025, so there are now three ways to get Pinnacle odds into your own code: apply to Pinnacle for bespoke access, use an independent Pinnacle-only feed (pinnapi, pinnodds and oddssea publish prices from $59 to $299 a month), or use a multi-bookmaker API that includes Pinnacle (The Odds API, SharpAPI). Which one fits depends on speed, depth of lines and whether you need history.
All prices and features below come from each provider's own pages, read on 31 October 2026. None of the independent feeds says it is affiliated with Pinnacle.
Definition. A Pinnacle API alternative is any data source that delivers Pinnacle's prices (and ideally its limits) to software, replacing the self-serve
api.pinnacle.comaccess that funded Pinnacle customers used until July 2025. It is a data feed, not a betting account: none of the third-party feeds below lets you place bets at Pinnacle.
What happened to the Pinnacle API?
Pinnacle's API documentation on GitHub now opens with this notice: "Access to Pinnacle API suite has been closed for the general public since July 23rd, 2025. We offer bespoke data services for select high value bettors & commercial partnerships. We also support academics and pregame handicapping projects." Applications go to api@pinnacle.com. The old API also required a funded Pinnacle account.
Two more dates matter if you still run code against it:
- On 25 August 2026 Pinnacle's API changelog deprecated
/v1/fixtures/settledand/v1/fixtures/special/settled. They "reach end of life on November 1, 2026 and will stop responding after that date. There is no replacement." - Pinnacle's own API page (pinnacle.ca/en/api) now invites applications from individual customers, business partners and, separately, prediction-market trading desks. On cost it says the bespoke product "has a variable cost associated with the speed and breadth of access each customer requires". No price is published.
What are the alternatives to the Pinnacle API?
| Option | What you get | Delivery | Price (31/10/2026) | Free tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pinnacle bespoke API | All Pinnacle odds, feed customised by sport; betting through the API for "loyal customers" | Agreed with Pinnacle | Not published, "variable cost" | No; application only |
| pinnapi | Pinnacle odds only, live and pre-match, 10+ sports; drop alerts with a no-vig price | REST, SSE, WebSocket | $99 to $229 a month | 100 REST requests a day, no card |
| pinnodds | Pinnacle odds, "all 12 sports", live and pre-match, full line depth on every plan; drop alerts from 1% | REST, SSE, WebSocket (raw WebSocket +$99/month) | $99 to $229 a month; quarterly and 6-month discounts | 20 requests a minute, 100 a day |
| oddssea | Pinnacle odds, every sport and alternative line; drops, limit changes, fair prices (multiplicative, additive, power, Shin); PS3838-compatible format | REST, WebSocket | $59 (pre-match), $149 (live), $299 (scale) a month; crypto, prepaid | Delayed pre-match, 100 requests a day |
| The Odds API | Pinnacle among dozens of bookmakers (EU region) | REST polling | $30 to $249 a month by credits | 500 credits a month |
| SharpAPI | Pinnacle in a multi-book feed, used as its no-vig and +EV reference | REST; streaming (SSE/WebSocket) needs a $99/month add-on | $79 to $399 a month by number of books | 2 books, 60-second delay |
Two things the table cannot show. First, where the data comes from. The Odds API says its Pinnacle odds "are from public website which may incur a delay". The independent feeds do not say how they source Pinnacle's prices; they describe themselves as independent and not affiliated. Second, latency claims are the vendors' own: pinnapi quotes about 15–40 ms frame-to-client, oddssea publishes a running median from its Helsinki servers. Measure from your own server before you rely on any figure.
Which Pinnacle data feed fits which job?
- An alert bot or a value-betting script that reacts to moves. You need push delivery (SSE or WebSocket) and drop events, not a poll every few seconds. The Pinnacle-only feeds are built for this; check whether the live stream is in the plan you pick (pinnapi's free tier, for example, has no drop stream).
- Comparing Pinnacle with soft bookmakers. A multi-book API saves you matching teams and events across sources. The trade-off is speed: polling every few seconds misses short-lived prices, and The Odds API notes a possible delay on Pinnacle.
- Research, models or CLV analysis on past games. You need history, not a live feed. oddssea keeps every line's moves for 7 days after the start and opening and closing prices for a year, but only since 3 October 2026. For older seasons, see Pinnacle odds history (football-data.co.uk, Bet2Invest, BettingIsCool).
- Academic work. Pinnacle says on its API page that access "can be granted for the purposes of academic research". Apply directly; it is the only source with official terms.
- Placing bets automatically at Pinnacle. Only Pinnacle's own API can do this, and only for customers it approves.
What should you check before you pay for a Pinnacle feed?
- Line depth. Main lines only, or every alternative handicap and total? A drop on −4.5 games is invisible in a main-line-only feed.
- Limits. Pinnacle's limit moves are half of the signal (see market limit vs outcome limit). oddssea lists limit changes; ask the others.
- Live vs pre-match by plan. Several providers put live odds or streams only on higher tiers.
- Fair-price method. If the feed supplies no-vig prices, which devig method? Power and Shin give different fair odds from multiplicative on long shots (devig methods).
- Redistribution. oddssea's plans cover "your own use"; showing the data to others "needs a redistribution licence". If you plan a public site or app, read the licence first.
- Results. With Pinnacle's settled endpoints switched off on 1 November 2026, check where your results will come from. oddssea, for example, includes final scores for matches from the last 7 days.
What does a Pinnacle move look like as data?
A real move from Pinnacle Terminal, 28 October 2026, about 09:37 Madrid time (CET): ITF Women Poitiers, Leonard v Hesse, games handicap Leonard −3.5. The price fell from 1.826 to 1.543 and Pinnacle raised the limit as it fell; fair price after Power devig 1.631. In a feed, that is at least four fields that change together:
| Field | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Price, Leonard −3.5 | 1.826 | 1.543 |
| Implied probability | 54.8% | 64.8% |
| Limit | lower | raised |
| Fair price (Power) | — | 1.631 |
A feed that sends only the price tells you the odds fell 15.5%. One that also sends the limit tells you Pinnacle took the money and wanted more. Whatever you build, keep both. The odds drop calculator and the devig calculator do the two calculations by hand.
Do you need an API at all?
Not if you want to see Pinnacle's moves and act on them rather than build software. An API gives you raw prices; you still have to write the matching, the filters, the fair-price maths, the alerting and the record keeping. If what you want is "tell me when Pinnacle moves on a market my bookmaker offers", a screen with alerts does that without code. If you want something no product offers, a feed is the right tool.
How Pinnacle Terminal handles this
Pinnacle Terminal is for the second case: it streams Pinnacle's prices and limits to a screen and a Telegram bot, with no code to write. Every pre-match move gets a 0–10 grade and a label (Big move when the odds dropped and Pinnacle closed the market, Sharp drop at about 20% or more below the recent high, Limit-backed when the odds dropped and Pinnacle raised the limit, then Downtrend, Rebound and Standard); live in-play football drops are shown and filtered but not graded. The Basketball lines tab alerts when a main spread or total moves 3 or more points in under 2 minutes, with a lock icon when Pinnacle has moved the line but does not offer the market yet. Fair prices use Power devig by default. It keeps no odds history, so for research you still need an archive or a feed. See Pinnacle dropping odds.
FAQ
Is the Pinnacle API still available?
Not to the general public. Pinnacle closed self-serve access on 23 July 2025. It now offers bespoke data services to selected bettors, commercial partners and academic projects, by application to api@pinnacle.com or the form on its API page.
How much does the Pinnacle API cost?
Pinnacle does not publish a price; its API page says cost varies with "the speed and breadth of access each customer requires". Independent Pinnacle feeds published $59 to $299 a month on 31 October 2026, and multi-book APIs that include Pinnacle start at $30 a month.
Is there a free Pinnacle odds API?
Free tiers exist but are limited: pinnapi gives 100 REST requests a day, oddssea gives delayed pre-match odds with 100 requests a day, and The Odds API gives 500 credits a month across all its bookmakers. None of them includes a real-time live stream for free.
Can I still place bets through the Pinnacle API?
Only with Pinnacle's approval. Its API page says betting through the API is allowed "for loyal customers", assessed on account history. Third-party data feeds cannot place bets.
What happens to the Pinnacle settled fixtures endpoints?
/v1/fixtures/settled and /v1/fixtures/special/settled reach end of life on 1 November 2026 and stop responding; Pinnacle's changelog says there is no replacement. Use another results source.
