Pinnacle Odds History – Where to Find Historical Odds

Where to find Pinnacle odds history in 2026: free closing-odds files, paid archives and APIs, what changed when Pinnacle's API closed, and how to log your own.

Pinnacle does not publish an odds archive, and its public API has been closed since 23 July 2025, so historical Pinnacle odds now come from third parties: free football CSV files (football-data.co.uk), backtesting databases (Bet2Invest), paid APIs (BettingIsCool) and free closing-line tables (SteamWatch). Check the dates before you use any of them: football-data.co.uk itself warns that its Pinnacle prices since 23 July 2025 are "systematically out of date".

This page lists the sources we could verify, what each one actually stores, and how to build the history you need for closing line value if no archive covers your markets.

Definition. Pinnacle odds history is a record of the prices Pinnacle offered on an event over time. The minimum useful version has two prices per selection: the opening (or an early pre-match) price and the closing price, the last one before the start. A full history adds every price change with a timestamp, the line (handicap or total) and, ideally, the limit.

Where can you find historical Pinnacle odds?

Four kinds of source, with very different depth. All details below come from each site's own pages, read on 31 October 2026.

SourceWhat it storesSportsAccess
football-data.co.ukOne pre-closing and one closing Pinnacle price per match (1X2, over/under 2.5, Asian handicap) in CSV filesFootball: 22 European divisions, plus 16 other leagues with closing oddsFree download
Bet2Invest Strategy BuilderOpening and closing prices for every matchup, used inside a backtesting engineFootball up to 10 years; basketball, tennis, American football, baseball, ice hockey, volleyball 5 years; esports since February 2026Free tier with a capped backtest window; no CSV export
BettingIsCool APIEvery odds movement per event, opening and closing lines with devigged odds, results44-46 sports (both figures appear on its page), pre-match since 2021, live since March 2026Paid: €99 to €599 a month
SteamWatch closing linesPinnacle opening and closing price per match on 1X2, Asian handicap and totals, with capture time10 football competitions (Premier League, La Liga, Champions League and others)Free to view

A few odds sites keep their own charts of past prices, but they are not Pinnacle archives you can download. We list what each one says in our comparisons: Oddspedia's event pages graph the movement of each market (Oddspedia dropping odds alternative), OddsHub advertises a free closing-odds archive (OddsHub alternative), BetUnfair sells odds history and a 60-day match archive (BetUnfair review) and Pinnspy shows Asian handicap and totals history for basketball matches (Pinnspy alternative).

Which source fits which job?

  • Checking CLV on football bets placed before July 2025: football-data.co.uk. It is free and has a Pinnacle closing price for every match.
  • Testing a rule over several seasons without writing code: Bet2Invest. You describe the strategy; it settles it on Pinnacle closes.
  • Building your own model or tracker: an API with full movement and timestamps, such as BettingIsCool.
  • Looking up a single recent football close: SteamWatch.

Can you still get odds history from the Pinnacle API?

Not as a member of the public. Pinnacle's own API documentation on GitHub says: "Access to Pinnacle API suite has been closed for the general public since July 23rd, 2025. We offer bespoke data services for select high value bettors & commercial partnerships. We also support academics and pregame handicapping projects." Applications go to api@pinnacle.com. For live data in code, the options now are independent feeds and multi-book APIs, compared in Pinnacle API alternatives.

The same repository's changelog adds a date to watch: on 25 August 2026 Pinnacle deprecated /v1/fixtures/settled and /v1/fixtures/special/settled, which "reach end of life on November 1, 2026 and will stop responding after that date. There is no replacement." Any home-made archive that relied on those endpoints for results needs another results source from tomorrow.

Is football-data.co.uk's Pinnacle data still reliable?

For seasons up to 2024/25, yes; it is the free dataset Joseph Buchdahl used in his 2017 study of Pinnacle's market efficiency, which we cite in Pinnacle as a sharp reference price. For anything after 23 July 2025, read the warning on its data page first:

"Since 23/07/2025 Pinnacle's public API for odds delivery has become unreliable meaning their odds are systematically out of date relative to odds for other bookmakers, including both the pre-closing and closing odds." (football-data.co.uk, read 31 October 2026)

The site also stopped using Pinnacle in its market average and maximum columns. We opened the files on 31 October 2026 to see what that means in practice:

FilePinnacle closing odds (PSCH)Last match with a Pinnacle close
Premier League 2024/25380 of 380 matchesEnd of season
Premier League 2025/26210 of 380 matches08/01/2026
Premier League, Championship, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 2026/27No Pinnacle columns in the file—
Argentina (extra leagues file)Column present, empty for recent rows14/12/2025

So for the current season, football-data.co.uk is no longer a Pinnacle source at all. For 2025/26, use the Pinnacle columns only with the site's own caution.

How do you read a Pinnacle open-to-close move? A real example

Manchester United v Wolves, Premier League, 20 April 2025, from football-data.co.uk's 2024/25 file (before the API change). For weekend games the site collects the pre-closing price on Friday afternoon.

UnitedDrawWolvesMargin
Pinnacle, Friday2.013.633.823.48%
Pinnacle, close2.603.502.802.75%
Fair close (Power devig)2.6643.6142.8740%
bet365, Friday2.003.603.60—

What the history tells you:

  • The size of the move. Wolves went from 3.82 to 2.80, a 26.7% shorter price; in implied probability, from 26.2% to 35.7%. In size alone that is past the roughly 20% the terminal uses for a Sharp drop, but two snapshots cannot show whether it happened in two minutes or over two days.
  • The margin tightened from 3.48% on Friday to 2.75% at the close.
  • The CLV of an early bet. Wolves at bet365's Friday 3.60 against the fair close of 2.874: 3.60 ÷ 2.874 − 1 = +25.3%. Pinnacle's own Friday 3.82 gives +32.9%. The CLV calculator does this sum, and the devig calculator gives the fair close from the three closing prices.

The result of the match does not change any of these numbers. CLV measures the price, not the outcome. One example proves nothing about a method; a history of hundreds does.

What do you need Pinnacle odds history for?

Three uses, each with different data needs.

  1. Closing line value. You only need the closing price of the markets you bet, close to kick-off, ideally both sides so you can remove the margin. See the closing line value guide.
  2. Backtesting a rule. "Back away teams whose price shortened 15%+ from open to close" needs opening and closing prices across seasons, plus results.
  3. Studying how lines move. Questions about timing, such as how early a steam move starts or whether a drop rebounds, need every tick with a timestamp. Two snapshots per match cannot answer them.

How do you build your own Pinnacle odds history?

If no archive covers your sport or league, record it yourself from the moment you bet. For CLV you do not need every tick, only these columns:

ColumnExample
Date and time you bet2025-04-18 16:05
Event, market, selection, lineMan United v Wolves, 1X2, Wolves
Your odds and bookmaker3.60, bet365
Pinnacle price at the same moment3.82
Pinnacle closing prices, all outcomes2.60 / 3.50 / 2.80
Fair closing price and CLV2.874, +25.3%

Our bet tracking spreadsheet has the full layout and formulas. Take the closing price as late as you can; a "close" captured an hour before the start is an earlier price, not the close. The opening line vs closing line article explains why the gap matters.

Common mistakes with historical odds

  • Using stale data as if it were live. Check the source's dates and any warning notes, as with football-data.co.uk after July 2025.
  • Not removing the margin. Comparing your odds with the raw Pinnacle close understates CLV. Devig the close first (devig methods).
  • Mixing lines. A close on Asian handicap −0.75 is not a close on −0.5. Match the line, not just the market.
  • Treating one snapshot as the close. Ask when the archive took its "closing" price. SteamWatch stores the capture time and minutes before kick-off with each close; many sources do not say.

How Pinnacle Terminal handles this

Pinnacle Terminal is a live screen, not an archive: it does not keep an odds or line history. It shows each Pinnacle move as it happens, with the price, the size of the drop and the limit, and grades every pre-match move 0–10 with a label: Big move (the odds dropped and Pinnacle closed the market), Sharp drop (about 20% or more below the recent high), Limit-backed (the odds dropped and Pinnacle raised the limit), Downtrend, Rebound (back towards the opener) or Standard. Live in-play football drops are shown and filtered, not graded. Telegram alerts follow the rules each user sets, fair prices use Power devig by default, and the tracker records the CLV of the bets you log. If you need a past season, use one of the archives above; for the move happening now, see Pinnacle dropping odds.

FAQ

Does Pinnacle publish historical odds?

No. Pinnacle shows current prices only. Its API, which was the usual way to record them, has been closed to the general public since 23 July 2025; access is now by application to api@pinnacle.com.

Where can I download Pinnacle closing odds for free?

football-data.co.uk has free CSV files with a Pinnacle pre-closing and closing price for football matches (columns PSH/PSD/PSA and PSCH/PSCD/PSCA). Its Pinnacle prices after 23 July 2025 carry a reliability warning, and the 2026/27 files we opened on 31 October 2026 have no Pinnacle columns.

Is there an API with Pinnacle odds history?

Third-party ones. BettingIsCool sells a Pinnacle odds history API with pre-match data since 2021 and live since March 2026, from €99 a month (read 31 October 2026). Some live Pinnacle feeds keep no archive, so check whether a feed stores history before you buy.

How far back does Pinnacle odds history go?

It depends on the source: football-data.co.uk has Pinnacle closing 1X2 odds back to 2012/13, Bet2Invest up to 10 years for football and 5 for other sports, BettingIsCool from 2021.

Does Pinnacle Terminal keep odds history?

No. It streams Pinnacle's prices and limits live, grades pre-match moves and shows live in-play drops, but it does not store past lines. Log the bets you act on in the tracker to keep your own CLV record.
