ValueBetFactory Alternative 2026

A ValueBetFactory alternative compared on facts: dropping odds vs +EV scanning, plans, Telegram, coverage and CLV tracking, all checked on 13/10/2026.

A ValueBetFactory alternative makes most sense if you want Pinnacle's price moves explained rather than only flagged, everything in one plan, and coverage of props, esports and lower leagues: that is how Pinnacle Terminal is built; if you want an +EV scanner that compares soft books with Pinnacle and Betfair Exchange, ValueBetFactory's own scanner plans are the natural fit.

ValueBetFactory (VBF) sells two engines, a Pinnacle dropping-odds feed and a +EV scanner, separately or together. Pinnacle Terminal sells one product: a real-time screen of Pinnacle's prices and limits, with each move classified, sent to a private Telegram bot and tracked for CLV. This page sets out where they overlap and where they do not.

Disclosure: this is the Pinnacle Terminal blog. Facts about VBF come from valuebetfactory.com (home and pricing pages), read on 13 October 2026. Check their site before deciding. For a full verdict on the product itself, with prices re-checked on 30/10/2026 (€77, €137 and €177 a month, or €62, €109 and €142 billed yearly), read our ValueBetFactory review.

What ValueBetFactory offers

On 13/10/2026 VBF's site listed three monthly plans, each with a 7-day free trial:

  • Dropping Odds, €77 per month: unlimited dropping-odds Telegram alerts, real-time Pinnacle odds, direct links for supported bookmakers, current EV and CLV in the bet tracker, a Telegram community.
  • +EV Scanner, €137 per month: unlimited +EV Telegram alerts comparing sharp odds (Pinnacle and Betfair Exchange) with soft books, current EV and CLV in the tracker.
  • +EV Scanner & Dropping Odds, €177 per month: both engines, advanced filtering, early access to features and priority support.

Yearly billing was offered with a 20% saving. The pricing FAQ said you keep access to the end of the billing cycle after cancelling and that there are no refunds. The home page also mentions 30+ bookmakers for the scanner, notifications on mobile and desktop, a web "Bet Center", calculators and a large education section.

Two engines vs one terminal

VBF's split is a clear way to think about the market.

The dropping-odds engine watches Pinnacle and tells you when a price falls. You then find the value at your bookmaker, helped by direct links where supported. This is the same core idea as Pinnacle Terminal.

The +EV engine works the other way round: it compares soft-book prices with a fair price from Pinnacle and Betfair Exchange and lists the soft prices that are too long, whether or not anything has moved.

Pinnacle Terminal is a dropping-odds tool, but it goes further into the move itself. Every pre-match move gets a label (Big move, Sharp drop, Limit-backed, Downtrend, Rebound, Standard) and a 0–10 grade, built from the size and speed of the drop, what happened to Pinnacle's limit, and whether the market was locked. The move grade guide has the details. It does not run a soft-book scanner.

When ValueBetFactory is the better choice

  • You want an +EV scanner that lists soft-book prices above fair value without waiting for a move.
  • You want direct links to the event at supported bookmakers.
  • You want Betfair Exchange as a second reference.
  • You want the cheapest dropping-odds-only plan and do not need graded moves or props.

When Pinnacle Terminal is the better choice

  • You want to know what kind of move you are looking at. A rebound to the opening price and a drop on a raised limit can look similar as a percentage. The labels separate them.
  • You bet props, esports or lower leagues, where Pinnacle often moves well before soft books.
  • You want in-play football alerts that ignore moves explained by a goal or the score.
  • You want alerts only for your bookmaker's leagues, rather than a tier filter. See the bookmaker league filter guide.
  • You want one plan with everything, rather than choosing between engines.

Direct links shave seconds off getting to the market. On a fast move those seconds matter. They do not check that the line, period and settlement rules match what Pinnacle priced, and they do not tell you whether the move is worth acting on. That judgement is still yours. Whatever tool you use, before each bet confirm three things: same market, same line, same rules. Our guide to dropping odds covers the checks.

Where the fair price comes from

Both products show a fair price, and both lean on Pinnacle for it. The details matter more than the label. A fair price is Pinnacle's price with its margin removed, and there is more than one way to remove it. On short favourites and long outsiders the methods disagree, sometimes by enough to turn a small edge into none.

Pinnacle Terminal shows four methods (multiplicative, additive, power and Shin) and a worst-case figure that takes the least favourable of them, so you can choose how conservative to be. You can check any number by hand with the free devig calculator. Whichever tool you use, ask which method its fair price uses and whether a second reference such as an exchange changes the figure. If a vendor will not say, treat its edge percentages as approximate, and size your stakes with that uncertainty in mind.

A worked example

The arithmetic, with round numbers: Pinnacle's two-way price moves and the fair price on your side becomes 1.89. Your bookmaker still shows 2.00. Modelled edge: 2.00 ÷ 1.89 − 1, about +5.8%. If the fair closing price is 1.85, your CLV is about +8.1%. An +EV scanner would have shown the 2.00 as value too, possibly before the move if the soft book was already out of line. The terminal shows you why the price is now wrong.

How Pinnacle Terminal handles this

Pinnacle Terminal streams Pinnacle's prices and limits over WebSocket, with the current latency shown on screen. It does not take bets and is not affiliated with Pinnacle. Each pre-match move gets a label and a 0–10 grade. In-play alerts cover football only. Basketball main lines trigger an alert when they jump three or more points in under two minutes, including while locked. Alerts reach a private Telegram bot with your filters, and the fair price inside the message updates as the market moves, using four devig methods plus a worst case. The tracker records CLV for every logged bet. One plan, everything included.

Before you switch

Check the billing terms. VBF's FAQ said cancelled plans run to the end of the cycle with no refunds. Cancel before the renewal date if you are moving.

Export your bet history so you keep your CLV record.

Compare on CLV, not results. Over one or two weeks, results are mostly noise. The average gap between the odds you took and the fair close is the measure that settles quickly.

A one-week test

  1. Start both trials in the same week.
  2. Set both to your main bookmakers and sports.
  3. Log every bet by tool, with the odds you got.
  4. After seven days, compare each set with the fair closing prices.
