bet365 dropping odds are bet365 prices that have shortened, and in most cases bet365 is following the sharp market rather than leading it. In a public study of 28 football fixtures, bet365's next same-direction move came a median 47 to 67 minutes after a Pinnacle 1X2 move of 1% or more. That gap, minus bet365's larger margin, is what a Pinnacle-based dropping-odds bettor works with.
People search for "bet365 dropping odds" for two different reasons. Some want a list of bet365 prices that have fallen. Others bet at bet365 and want to know whether a Pinnacle drop is still available there. This page covers both, with the public data that exists, and shows how to check your own bet365 prices against the fair price. For the general idea, start with what dropping odds are.
Definition. A bet365 dropping odd is a bet365 price that is shorter now than at an earlier reference point: the opening price, or the price at the start of a time window. On its own it tells you bet365 changed its price. It does not tell you who moved first or whether the new price is fair.
What are bet365 dropping odds?
Two things go by the same name.
1. bet365's own price falls. Free dropping-odds pages often use a bet365 feed. OddAlerts' dropping odds page, for example, defaults to bet365 and to "Opening against current price" for the next 12 hours, with Pinnacle, 1xBet, William Hill, Betfair Exchange and others as alternative bookmakers (read 1 November 2026). These lists show how far bet365 has moved since it opened.
2. A Pinnacle drop that bet365 has not copied yet. This is the one that matters if you bet at bet365. Pinnacle moves its price, and for a while bet365 still offers something close to the old one. If bet365's price is longer than Pinnacle's new fair price, the bet has positive expected value on paper.
The first list is history. The second is a time-limited price gap. Most of this page is about the second.
Does bet365 follow Pinnacle's odds?
Mostly, yes, but slowly and not every time. Two public analyses measured it in 2026, with different methods.
OddsPapi (published 13 September 2026). 28 football fixtures played between 28 August and 1 September 2026, seven each from the Premier League, Eredivisie, Eliteserien and Liga MX Apertura. Full-time result market, final 24 hours before kick-off. A "move" was a Pinnacle price change of 1% or more; a "follow" was the bookmaker's next price change in the same direction within six hours.
| Competition | bet365 median lag | bet365 random-time control | 1xBet median lag |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premier League | 66.8 min | 161.2 min | 6.3 min |
| Eliteserien | 61.3 min | 137.2 min | 9.8 min |
| Eredivisie | 47.3 min | 135.9 min | 11.6 min |
| Liga MX Apertura | 48.2 min | 115.7 min | 12.5 min |
bet365 answered 59.2% to 72.9% of qualifying Pinnacle moves within six hours; 1xBet answered 83.1% to 93.8%. OddsPapi's own reading: bet365 beats its random-time control by 2.2 to 2.9 times, "coupling you can detect but not coupling you can time a bet around".
Olivier Vignez (LinkedIn, October 2026). 33,929 football matches in 12 leagues from 2018 to 2026, every pre-match 1X2 price move of Pinnacle and bet365 timed to the second. Counting only pairs where both books moved the same way less than 30 minutes apart (80,623 pairs), Pinnacle moved first in 60.0% and bet365 in 39.9%, and bet365 followed a median 6.5 minutes later. Pinnacle's lead narrowed close to kick-off: 63% more than 24 hours out, 55% in the last hour. The author also flags that in 2023/24 and 2024/25 bet365 appears to lead in every league at once, which he attributes to a change in how prices were recorded.
Why do the two studies give such different numbers?
Because they ask different questions.
- OddsPapi starts from every Pinnacle move of 1% or more and waits up to six hours for bet365's next move in the same direction. Slow follows count in full, so the median is long: 47 to 67 minutes, and the moves bet365 never answered within six hours are reported separately as misses.
- Vignez keeps only the pairs where both books moved within 30 minutes of each other. By construction, every lag in that sample is under 30 minutes, so the median is short: 6.5 minutes.
Both can be true. When bet365 reacts quickly, it is often within a few minutes. But many Pinnacle moves get no quick reaction at all, because bet365 changes its price far less often. In OddsPapi's sample, Pinnacle's home price changed a median 36 to 73 times in the final 24 hours; bet365's changed 5 to 8 times. OddsPapi calls that "a repricing budget rather than a response to the market".
The practical reading: after a Pinnacle drop, do not assume bet365 has a fixed delay. Check its price.
Does bet365 ever move before Pinnacle?
Yes. In the Vignez data, bet365 moved first in about four of ten matched pairs. And bet365 often opens its markets earlier. In an older analysis (football-data.co.uk, posted 25 August 2017), bet365 opened before Pinnacle in 48 of 50 sampled matches, and in 35 of those its odds had already changed by the time Pinnacle opened. The same article found bet365's prices at the moment Pinnacle opened much closer to Pinnacle's fair prices than bet365's own openers.
A bet365 price falling before Pinnacle has priced the match is a different situation from a Pinnacle drop that bet365 has not copied. The first has no sharp reference yet. The second does.
Is a bet365 price above Pinnacle's a stale line?
Usually not. bet365 holds more margin, so most of its prices sit below Pinnacle's whether anyone has moved or not. In the OddsPapi sample, bet365's median closing 1X2 margin was 5.64% to 6.86% across the four competitions; Pinnacle's was 2.86% to 3.80%.
So compare bet365's price with Pinnacle's fair price, not with Pinnacle's quoted price. Strip the margin first with the devig calculator, then test bet365's price with the EV calculator. An illustrative example, not a real match:
- Pinnacle 1X2 before the move: 2.10 / 3.40 / 3.70 (margin about 4.1%). Fair home price with the power method: about 2.161.
- Pinnacle after a fast move: 1.95 / 3.55 / 4.10. Fair home price: about 2.000.
- bet365 still shows the home win at 2.05.
Against the old fair price, 2.05 was about −5.1% (2.05 ÷ 2.161 − 1). Against the new one it is about +2.5% (2.05 ÷ 2.000 − 1). The bet365 price did not change. Pinnacle's information did. That is the whole mechanism, and it is also why it is small: a few percent, before any slippage from a price that moves while you place the bet.
Real bet365 drops today, read in probability
OddAlerts' "Biggest drops right now" list, bet365, opening against current price, next 12 hours, read on 1 November 2026 at about 10:45 Madrid time (CET). Kick-off times converted to CET.
| Match (kick-off) | Selection | Opening → now | Drop in odds | Implied probability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bregalnica Stip v Skendija 79 (14:30) | Bregalnica Stip to win | 8.00 → 5.00 | 37.5% | 12.50% → 20.00% (+7.50 pts) |
| Charlton Athletic W v Chelsea W (15:30) | Both teams to score | 3.25 → 2.10 | 35.4% | 30.77% → 47.62% (+16.85 pts) |
| Falkirk v Celtic (14:00) | Falkirk to win | 7.50 → 5.00 | 33.3% | 13.33% → 20.00% (+6.67 pts) |
| Carroi v CE Casa de Portugal (14:00) | CE Casa de Portugal to win | 1.65 → 1.14 | 30.9% | 60.61% → 87.72% (+27.11 pts) |
The table is ordered by percentage drop, which is how most lists sort. In probability, the order is reversed: the smallest percentage drop (Carroi, 30.9%) is by far the largest change of opinion (+27 points), and the longest prices move the least. Convert before you compare; the odds drop calculator shows both numbers.
None of these rows says whether Pinnacle moved first, how fast, or what the limit did. An opening-to-now drop at bet365 is a record of where bet365 ended up, not a signal you can still act on.
How do you check bet365's lag on your own bets?
Public studies cover a few leagues and one market. Your sports, leagues and hours will differ. A simple test:
- For two weeks, write down the time of each Pinnacle drop you would act on, the market and the new fair price.
- Check bet365's price for that market at once, then about 5 and 15 minutes later.
- Record whether bet365's price was above the fair price, and for how long.
- After 50 or more drops, count the share where a price above fair existed when you looked. That share, and the minutes it lasted, is your real window.
Do it per sport and per market. Main football lines, props and lower leagues behave differently. Our soft bookmakers list has a similar test for other books, and why dropping odds alerts don't turn into bets covers the alerts where the price is already gone.
What should you watch out for at bet365?
- Same line, same rules. A Pinnacle Asian handicap and a bet365 European handicap are different bets. Match the line and the settlement before you compare; see Asian handicap explained.
- Margin by market. Margins on niche markets are usually wider than on main lines. Measure them with the margin calculator.
- Account restrictions. Soft bookmakers can restrict customers whose bets keep beating the closing price. Why that happens is in why bookmakers limit winners.
- Closing line value. Whether a bet at bet365 was good is judged against Pinnacle's closing fair price, not by the result. See the closing line value guide and the CLV calculator.
How Pinnacle Terminal handles this
Pinnacle Terminal shows Pinnacle's prices and limits live; it does not show bet365's prices and does not take bets. Its bookmaker league filter includes bet365, so you can hide competitions bet365 does not list and only see moves you could act on there. Every pre-match move is graded 0–10 and labelled (Big move, Sharp drop at about 20% or more below the recent high, Limit-backed, Downtrend, Rebound, Standard), measured over a 2-minute window by default, which you can change. Each alert carries the fair price (Power is the default devig method), and per-user Telegram alerts push only the moves your rules keep. In-play, football drops are shown live and filtered by match context, not graded. The terminal keeps no odds history: it shows moves as they happen. More on the Pinnacle dropping odds page.
FAQ
Does bet365 copy Pinnacle's odds?
It often moves in the same direction after Pinnacle, but not on a fixed delay. One 2026 study measured a median 47 to 67 minutes after a Pinnacle 1X2 move of 1% or more, with bet365 following 59% to 73% of moves within six hours.
How long does bet365 take to follow a Pinnacle drop?
It depends on how you count. Over all Pinnacle moves, OddsPapi measured 47.3 to 66.8 minutes (median). Counting only cases where both books moved within 30 minutes, a separate analysis found a median of 6.5 minutes.
Where can I see bet365 dropping odds?
Several free pages list bet365 drops from the opening price, for example OddAlerts' dropping odds page, which defaults to bet365. These show how far bet365 has moved, not whether Pinnacle moved first.
Is a bet365 price higher than Pinnacle's always value?
No. Compare it with Pinnacle's fair price, after removing the margin. bet365's 1X2 margins in one 2026 sample were 5.64% to 6.86%, about double Pinnacle's, so a raw price comparison misleads.
Does Pinnacle Terminal show bet365 odds?
No. It shows Pinnacle's prices, limits and graded pre-match moves, and its league filter can hide competitions bet365 does not list. You compare the fair price with bet365's price yourself.
