La Liga dropping odds are prices on Spanish top-flight matches that shorten between the opening line and kick-off, such as Sevilla at home to Alavés falling from 2.10 to 1.90 at Pinnacle in the week after the price opened. La Liga prices open about two weeks ahead with a 1X2 margin of 6–7%, so remove the margin before you read a drop. And on heavy favourites like Real Madrid, read the Asian handicap: on 1 November 2026 it moved more than twice as far as the 1X2 on the same match.
This guide covers the La Liga calendar and when prices appear, which market carries the information for each type of match, matchweek 12's moves in fair probability, and how to check a Spanish bookmaker's price against Pinnacle. For football in general, see football dropping odds. For the English top flight, see Premier League dropping odds.
Definition. A La Liga dropping odd is a pre-match price on a LALIGA EA SPORTS match (1X2, Asian handicap or total) that is shorter now than at an earlier reference point, usually the opening price or the price at the start of a time window. Read it in fair implied probability: remove the margin from every outcome of the market at both times, then compare.
When do La Liga odds open?
About 12 to 14 days before kick-off for a normal weekend. The public Pinnacle tracker SteamWatch first recorded every matchweek 12 fixture it lists (6–8 November 2026) at 20:52 UTC on 25 October, and Athletic Bilbao v Real Sociedad (1 November) at 19:37 UTC on 18 October, 14 days ahead (match pages read 1 November 2026). How this compares with other leagues is in when do odds open.
Kick-off times are fixed earlier than in many leagues. LALIGA published the times for matchweek 12 on 12 October 2026, 25 days before the first match. That round runs from Friday 6 November (Sevilla v Alavés, 21:00 Madrid time) to Sunday 8 November (Atlético Madrid v Barcelona, 21:00), with no Monday match, and it is the last round before the November international break.
Three things in the Spanish calendar move prices:
- The spread of kick-offs. A La Liga round runs over three or four days, at times from 14:00 to 21:00 Madrid time. Friday's prices settle while Sunday's are still forming.
- European midweeks. On 3–4 November 2026, Atlético Madrid play Bayern Munich and Real Betis play Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League (SteamWatch fixture list). Atlético then host Barcelona four days later. Rotation and injuries from Tuesday reach Sunday's price by Thursday or Friday.
- Line-ups. Teams are named about an hour before kick-off. That is when the heaviest money arrives and the closing line forms.
Which La Liga market moves most?
It depends on the match. Two matchweek 12 fixtures show the extremes (Pinnacle prices via SteamWatch, read 1 November 2026, last snapshot 17:35 UTC; fair prices calculated by us with the power method):
| Match | Market | Open → now | Implied change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Valencia v Real Madrid | 1X2, Real Madrid | 1.38 → 1.30 | +4.5 pts |
| Valencia v Real Madrid | Asian handicap, Real Madrid −1.5 | 2.06 → 1.81 | +6.7 pts |
| Valencia v Real Madrid | Total, over 3.25 | 1.83 → 1.78 | +1.5 pts |
| Villarreal v Getafe | 1X2, Villarreal | 1.46 → 1.46 | 0.0 pts |
| Villarreal v Getafe | Total, over 2.5 | 1.87 → 1.81 | +1.8 pts |
Heavy favourites: read the handicap. At 1.30, Real Madrid's 1X2 price cannot move far. Most of the change in opinion shows up in the handicap: with the margin removed, the market's chance that Real Madrid win by two or more rose from about 46% to 53% (−1.5 at 2.06 → 1.81), while the 1X2 win chance rose from about 70% to 75%. The same logic applies whenever Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atlético are short favourites.
Close matches: read the 1X2 and the handicap together. On Sevilla v Alavés, the 1X2 moved from 2.10 to 1.90 and the Asian handicap line moved from Sevilla −0.25 to −0.5. When the line itself changes, the price on the new line cannot be compared with the old one. See Asian handicap explained for how each line settles.
Totals move on their own. Villarreal's 1X2 price did not change in a week, but the over 2.5 shortened from 1.87 to 1.81. A move in goals expectation does not have to change who is favoured. Totals are covered in over/under dropping odds.
La Liga drops this week
The matchweek 12 matches that appeared on SteamWatch's list of the 50 biggest drops, rebuilt at 17:48 UTC on 1 November 2026. Open and current 1X2 prices from each match page; margins and fair prices are our own calculation (power method).
| Match (kick-off, Madrid) | Selection | Raw price, open → now | 1X2 margin, open → now | Fair price, open → now | Fair probability change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Real Sociedad v Rayo Vallecano (8 Nov, 16:15) | Real Sociedad | 1.84 → 1.68 | 6.37% → 5.42% | 1.913 → 1.730 | +5.5 pts |
| Sevilla v Alavés (6 Nov, 21:00) | Sevilla | 2.10 → 1.90 | 6.07% → 5.31% | 2.193 → 1.965 | +5.3 pts |
| Valencia v Real Madrid (7 Nov, 21:00) | Real Madrid | 1.38 → 1.30 | 7.16% → 5.80% | 1.421 → 1.328 | +4.9 pts |
| Villarreal v Getafe (8 Nov, 18:30) | Villarreal | 1.46 → 1.46 | 7.05% → 5.67% | 1.507 → 1.498 | +0.4 pts |
What the table shows:
- The margin falls as kick-off nears. The four 1X2 markets opened at 6.1–7.2% and stood at 5.3–5.8% five to seven days out. Athletic Bilbao v Real Sociedad, about two and a half hours before kick-off, was at 2.75%. A raw comparison with the opener mixes the move with the margin falling.
- The margin can hide or create a move. Villarreal's raw price is unchanged, yet its fair price shortened slightly, because the margin on the other two outcomes came down.
- Single steps matter. SteamWatch timestamps the largest single step: 14:12 UTC on 1 November for Sevilla and 16:17 UTC for Real Sociedad. Both are Sunday moves for matches five and seven days away, not line-up news.
Sum check: the open and current prices of all five La Liga matches above add up to 102.75–107.2% in implied probability, which is plausible for Pinnacle. A snapshot far above that is a data error, not a move.
Can a La Liga match show a drop and a drift at once?
Yes, depending on the reference point. On Athletic Bilbao v Real Sociedad (1 November, 21:00 Madrid time), SteamWatch's list showed Athletic shortening from 2.17 to 2.03 over the last 48 hours (+3.2 points), while the same match page showed Athletic drifting from 1.82 at the 18 October opener to 2.03 (−5.7 points). Both are true. The price rose over two weeks and then came part of the way back. In Pinnacle Terminal terms, a price heading back towards the opener is a Rebound, not a new drop. Which earlier price each tracker uses, and why it changes the answer, is explained in how dropping odds are calculated.
How do you check a Spanish bookmaker against a La Liga drop?
Compare your bookmaker's price with Pinnacle's fair price after the move, not with the old price.
Worked example with the current Sevilla v Alavés prices (1.90 / 3.45 / 4.22). Sevilla's fair price is about 1.965. Two illustrative bookmaker prices, not quotes from a real bookmaker:
| Your bookmaker's price on Sevilla | Expected value against fair 1.965 |
|---|---|
| 2.00 | about +1.8% (2.00 ÷ 1.965 − 1) |
| 1.95 | about −0.8% |
A price that has not followed the drop yet is the only case where a drop helps you. Bookmakers do not all follow a Pinnacle move at the same speed; how one large bookmaker follows Pinnacle is covered in bet365 dropping odds, and the general pattern in soft bookmakers list. Run your own numbers with the devig calculator and the EV calculator, and judge each bet afterwards against the closing fair price with the CLV calculator.
What about live La Liga drops?
After kick-off, the clock and the score move prices without any money behind them: a 0-0 at minute 70 shortens the draw by itself, and a goal resets every market. Pinnacle Terminal covers in-play for football only. It shows live drops as they happen, filtered by score, recent goals and the minutes after a goal, and does not grade them; the 0–10 grade is for pre-match moves. How much of a live drop is time decay is worked through in in-play odds movement. A red card also changes the next fixture through suspensions: see how a red card affects betting odds.
How Pinnacle Terminal handles La Liga moves
The terminal streams Pinnacle's prices over a WebSocket, so a Sevilla or Real Sociedad move appears when Pinnacle makes it, with Pinnacle's maximum market limit beside the price. Every pre-match move on a La Liga 1X2, handicap or total is graded 0–10 and labelled: Big move when the price drops and Pinnacle closes the market, Sharp drop for a fall of roughly 20% or more from the recent high, Limit-backed when the price drops and Pinnacle raises the limit, Rebound when it heads back towards the opener, plus Downtrend and Standard. Drops are measured over a 2-minute window by default, and you can change it. For Spanish bettors the useful filter is the bookmaker league list: an alert rule can be limited to the leagues offered by Codere, Luckia, Retabet, Sportium, Winamax, bet365 and the other supported books (setup in the bookmaker league filter guide). Alerts go to your own Telegram bot with the fair price, using Power devig unless you choose another method. The terminal shows moves as they happen; it does not keep an odds history. Everything it covers is on Pinnacle dropping odds.
FAQ
What are La Liga dropping odds?
Prices on Spanish top-flight matches that have shortened since an earlier point, usually the opening line. On 1 November 2026, Pinnacle's price on Real Sociedad at home to Rayo Vallecano (8 November) had fallen from 1.84 at opening to 1.68.
When do La Liga odds come out?
About 12 to 14 days before kick-off. A public Pinnacle tracker first recorded the 6–8 November 2026 matches on 25 October, and Athletic Bilbao v Real Sociedad (1 November) on 18 October. LALIGA had fixed the matchweek 12 kick-off times on 12 October.
Why does the Real Madrid handicap move more than the match odds?
Because a short 1X2 price has little room to move. On Valencia v Real Madrid, Real Madrid's 1X2 price went from 1.38 to 1.30 (+4.5 points), while Real Madrid −1.5 went from 2.06 to 1.81 (+6.7 points).
What is the margin on La Liga odds at Pinnacle?
It depends on the time. The matchweek 12 1X2 markets we checked opened at 6.1–7.2% and were at 5.3–5.8% five to seven days before kick-off. Athletic Bilbao v Real Sociedad was at 2.75% on match day, about two and a half hours before kick-off.
Can I get La Liga dropping odds alerts on Telegram?
Yes. Pinnacle Terminal sends pre-match La Liga moves, graded 0–10, to your own Telegram bot, filtered by the rules you set, including the leagues your bookmaker offers. Live in-play football drops are also shown, filtered but not graded.
