Ligue 1 dropping odds are prices on French top-flight matches that shorten between the opening line and kick-off, such as AS Monaco away at Le Mans falling from 1.86 to 1.79 at Pinnacle since the price opened on 25 October. Ligue 1 prices open about two weeks before kick-off, sit at a margin of about 5% for most of that time, and then have their margin cut in one step. On 2 November 2026 all nine 6–8 November matches we checked went from about 5.0–5.6% to 3.1–3.9% at the same 05:21 UTC snapshot. So remove the margin before you read any Ligue 1 move: a raw price that lengthened this morning may not have moved at all.
This guide covers when Ligue 1 prices appear, what last weekend's open-to-close data shows, which market to read on each type of match, this week's moves in fair probability, and how to check your bookmaker against a Pinnacle move. For football in general, see football dropping odds. For other leagues, see Premier League dropping odds, La Liga dropping odds and Serie A dropping odds.
Definition. A Ligue 1 dropping odd is a Pinnacle price on a French top-flight match, in the 1X2, Asian handicap or goals total, that is shorter than it was at a chosen reference point: the opener, or the start of a time window. Measure it after taking the margin out of both prices, in fair implied probability, or a margin cut will look like a move.
When do Ligue 1 odds open?
About 13 to 14 days before kick-off, two rounds ahead. The public Pinnacle tracker SteamWatch first recorded all nine 6–8 November 2026 Ligue 1 matches at 20:36 UTC on Sunday 25 October: 12.0 days before Toulouse v Strasbourg on Friday and 13.7 to 14.0 days before the Sunday matches (match pages read 2 November 2026). Last weekend's matches had first appeared on 18 October, 13 to 14 days out. That is the same rhythm as the Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga, and about a week earlier than Serie A. The full comparison by league is in when do odds open.
A two-week window has three phases:
- Opening night. The nine matches opened with 1X2 margins of 5.89–6.56%. By the 05:40 UTC snapshot on 26 October, nine hours later, seven of them were at 4.98–5.13% (PSG 5.96%, Le Mans v Monaco 5.60%), and on five of the nine the largest single move of the fortnight so far came in that same overnight snapshot. When many matches reprice in the same snapshot, the cause is a round-wide correction, not a bet on one team.
- A quiet week at about 5%. From 26 October to the early hours of 2 November the margins stayed between 4.91% and 5.96%, and most prices barely changed.
- The margin cut. Between 05:05 and 05:21 UTC on Monday 2 November, after last weekend's round had finished, all nine margins dropped to 3.12–3.85%. Every raw price lengthened a little in that snapshot for that reason alone.
European football sits inside the same window. On SteamWatch's fixture list, PSG play at Villarreal and Lille at Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League on 3 November, Lens host Como on 4 November, Rennes host Olympiakos in the Europa League on 4 November, and Lyon (Europa League, at Real Sociedad) and Monaco (Conference League, v Nordsjaelland) play on 5 November. Five of the nine weekend matches involve one of those clubs, and Rennes v Lille involves two. Rotation and injury news from midweek reaches the weekend price from Thursday.
How much do Ligue 1 odds move before kick-off?
Not much, and late moves are small. We took the Ligue 1 matches played on 31 October and 1 November 2026 from SteamWatch's public archive of Pinnacle 1X2 prices and removed the margin with the power method. One match had no prices in the last four days and was left out, which leaves five. Of the total movement across four windows (opener to 24 hours out, 24 to 6 hours, 6 to 1 hour, last hour), 58% came in the last 24 hours, against 64–66% in the Premier League, Championship and Bundesliga and 47% in Serie A over the same weekend. The median last-hour move was 0.74 points of fair probability, the smallest of the six leagues. The method and the full 49-match sample are in why odds change before kick-off.
| Match (31 Oct–1 Nov 2026) | Home side | Opener → close | Home fair probability | 1X2 margin, opener → close |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paris FC v AS Monaco | Paris FC | 2.28 → 2.55 | 41.8% → 38.4% (−3.4 pts) | 6.16% → 2.47% |
| Troyes v Le Mans FC | Troyes | 2.10 → 2.29 | 45.5% → 42.9% (−2.6 pts) | 6.26% → 2.41% |
| Marseille v Toulouse | Marseille | 1.81 → 1.93 | 53.1% → 51.0% (−2.1 pts) | 6.60% → 2.58% |
| Strasbourg v Auxerre | Strasbourg | 1.79 → 1.89 | 53.8% → 52.0% (−1.8 pts) | 6.50% → 2.80% |
| Lyon v Angers | Lyon | 1.39 → 1.44 | 69.9% → 68.5% (−1.4 pts) | 6.87% → 2.98% |
What the data shows:
- Moves were small. The largest opener-to-close change for any outcome was Paris FC's, 3.4 points of fair probability. In Serie A the same weekend, Napoli's price at Juventus moved 6.9 points.
- Every home side drifted. In all five matches the home side's fair probability fell between the opener and the close, by 1.4 to 3.4 points. Seven of the nine home sides in the 6–8 November matches have drifted too (their prices are on the match pages; the table below shows the selection that shortened). We do not know the reason, and two weekends are too few to call it a pattern; check it again over the next rounds.
- The margin finished low. The five closing 1X2 margins sat between 2.41% and 2.98%, median 2.58%.

What the table shows:
- Brest's price tonight drifted the most. On Lorient v Brest, Brest went from 2.72 to 3.21, a fall from 35.1% to 30.3% in fair probability, while Lorient (2.56 → 2.45) and the draw (3.45 → 3.27) shortened. The largest single step came at 21:42 UTC on 27 October, when Lorient went from 2.62 to 2.40. The total line also came down from 2.5 to 2.25 goals. SteamWatch shows the price, not the money behind it, so the reason is unknown.
- Monaco's drop went too far, then came back. An hour after the price opened, at 21:40 UTC on 25 October, Monaco shortened from 1.86 to 1.71, a 5.0-point step in fair probability, the largest single step in this week's nine matches. It has since eased back to 1.79. Read from the opener, it is a 2.9-point drop; read from the low, the price has given part of the move back.
- A raw move can understate the fair one. Monaco's raw price moved by 0.07, yet its fair probability rose 2.9 points, because the margin fell from 6.33% to 3.85% over the same period and lengthened every raw price. The same applies to Lens: 2.12 → 2.09 looks flat, and is a 1.4-point move once the margin is out.
- Heavy favourites drift in a different way. PSG went from 1.10 to 1.14. On a short price, a small raw change is a big change in probability: 89.6% → 86.8%.
Sum check: every 1X2 snapshot of these nine matches adds up to 102.4–106.6% in implied probability, which is plausible for Pinnacle. A snapshot far outside that range is a data error, not a move.
Which Ligue 1 market moves most?
It depends on the match. Examples from the same snapshot, fair probabilities by the power method:
| Match | Market | Open → now | Fair probability change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rennes v Lille | Total, under 3.0 | 1.89 → 1.81 | +3.2 pts |
| Le Mans FC v AS Monaco | Asian handicap, AS Monaco −0.75 | 2.12 → 2.03 | +3.1 pts |
| Toulouse v Strasbourg | Asian handicap, Strasbourg +0.5 | 1.87 → 1.81 | +3.0 pts |
| PSG v Troyes | Asian handicap, PSG −2.5 | 1.88 → 2.06 | −3.5 pts |
| PSG v Troyes | Total, under 3.75 | 2.00 → 1.96 | +2.2 pts |
| Brest v Lyon | Asian handicap | Brest 0 → Brest +0.25 | line moved; not comparable |
| Angers v Nice | Total | 2.5 → 2.75 | line moved; not comparable |
Heavy favourites: read the handicap and the total. PSG's 1X2 price moved 0.04. The −2.5 handicap moved 3.5 points against PSG and the under 3.75 goals shortened 2.2 points. Both say the market expects a narrower PSG win than it did at the opener. Totals are covered in over/under dropping odds.
When the line changes, the price does not compare. On Brest v Lyon, the handicap went from level (0) to Brest +0.25: Lyon became the favourite, matching the 1X2 move. On Angers v Nice and Toulouse v Strasbourg, the total went up a quarter goal. A price on 2.75 goals cannot be compared with a price on 2.5; read the line change itself as the move. See Asian handicap explained for how quarter lines settle.
Close matches: read the 1X2 and the handicap together. On Rennes v Lille, Rennes drifted from 1.98 to 2.13 and the under 3.0 goals shortened. Both clubs play in Europe midweek, so expect a second move on Thursday or Friday when team news arrives.
How do you check your bookmaker against a Ligue 1 drop?
Use the fair price after the move as the yardstick. The old price is history.
Take Auxerre v Paris FC as it stood at 11:40 UTC on 2 November: 4.23 / 4.07 / 1.81. With the margin removed, Paris FC is about 1.848. Two made-up bookmaker prices show the test:
| Bookmaker price on Paris FC (illustrative) | Expected value against fair 1.848 |
|---|---|
| 1.95 | about +5.5% (1.95 ÷ 1.848 − 1) |
| 1.78 | about −3.7% |
Only the first is worth a look, and only while it lasts: a French or other European bookmaker that has not yet moved after Pinnacle. Some follow within minutes, some later; bet365 dropping odds shows how one large book trails Pinnacle. For your own matches, get the fair price from the devig calculator, the edge from the EV calculator and the size of the move from the odds drop calculator. After kick-off, grade the bet against the closing fair price in the CLV calculator.
What about live Ligue 1 drops?
They need a different filter. Once the match starts, prices move because time passes and goals go in, with or without money behind them. A level score late on shortens the draw by itself; a red card or a goal reprices every market at once. Pinnacle Terminal's in-play view is football only: it shows live drops as they happen and filters them by score, recent goals and time since a goal, without a grade. Grades are for pre-match moves. The size of pure time decay, minute by minute, is in in-play odds movement.
How Pinnacle Terminal handles Ligue 1 moves
Two of the patterns above are hard to see on a table that compares with the opener: Monaco's drop and partial return, and a round-wide margin cut that lengthens every raw price at once. The terminal streams Pinnacle's prices over a WebSocket, shows Pinnacle's maximum market limit next to each price, and measures each drop over a 2-minute window by default (adjustable). Every pre-match move on a Ligue 1 1X2, handicap or total gets a 0–10 grade and a label. Big move: the price dropped and Pinnacle closed the market. Sharp drop: a fall of roughly 20% or more from the recent high. Limit-backed: the price dropped while Pinnacle raised the limit. Rebound: the price is heading back towards the opener, as Monaco's did. Downtrend and Standard cover the rest. You build your own alert rules, for example Ligue 1 only or only the leagues your bookmaker offers, and the alerts arrive in your own Telegram bot with the fair price (Power devig by default). There is no odds history in the terminal, only moves as they happen, so the open-to-close figures on this page come from a public archive. The full feature list is on Pinnacle dropping odds.
FAQ
What are Ligue 1 dropping odds?
Prices on French Ligue 1 matches that have shortened since an earlier point, usually the opening line. On 2 November 2026, Pinnacle's price on AS Monaco away at Le Mans (8 November) had fallen from 1.86 at the opener to 1.79.
When do Ligue 1 odds come out?
About 13 to 14 days before kick-off at Pinnacle, based on a public tracker. The 6–8 November 2026 matches first appeared on 25 October, and the 31 October–1 November matches on 18 October.
What is the margin on Ligue 1 odds at Pinnacle?
It changes in steps. The 6–8 November 1X2 markets opened at 5.89–6.56%, sat at about 5% for a week, and dropped to 3.12–3.85% in one snapshot on the morning of 2 November. Last weekend's five matches closed at 2.41–2.98%.
Do Ligue 1 odds move more early or late?
In our 31 October–1 November sample, 58% of Ligue 1's pre-match movement (margin removed) came in the last 24 hours, and the median last-hour move was 0.74 points of fair probability, the smallest of the six leagues we checked (Premier League, Championship, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1).
Can I get Ligue 1 dropping odds alerts on Telegram?
Yes. In Pinnacle Terminal you set your own alert rules, for example Ligue 1 only, and every matching pre-match move is sent to your own Telegram bot with the fair price. Live in-play drops in football are shown in the terminal, filtered by match context and not graded.
